An extraordinary, incredibly rare and highly sought-after release from the pioneers of Yamazaki comes this fully matured whisky which has been glorified from the maturation between rare mizunara wood and whisky.

Only found in a few parts of Japan, mizunara is a notoriously difficult type of wood to work with for coopers, though folks at Suntory have mastered techniques in identifying suitable trees to produce casks over the years.

Created by chief blender Shinji Fukuyo, this was made to a be dramatic, unforgettable expression where decades of experience with mizunara oak and whiskies from 18 to 50 years of age have been used to produce this very limited release to showcase the wood’s unique effect on the maturing spirit.
