Sazerac is a terrific spicy rye from Buffalo Trace, it derives from the Sazerac Coffee House in New Orleans, birthplace of the famous Sazerac cocktail. This 6 year old rye, has a balanced nose with allspice, leather, ginger and pepper. The bold flavours are accentuated with sun ripened orange zest and woody notes of oak leaving a wonderful contrast on the palate. The Finish is smooth and lingering.
The Sazerac 18 Year Old Kentucky straight rye whiskey from the 2015 Buffalo Trace Antique Collection comes from the same award winning liquid that has been stored n steel tanks at the Buffalo Trace Distillery. This comes bottled at a particularly sturdy strength – for the 2014 release, it sits at 64.6% ABV.
