Description
April Fool Whisky – Extremely Old I Wish I Were Younger – 2022 is a gently peated Highland single malt, matured for five years in first-fill bourbon casks. This whisky was commissioned by The Whisky Exchange for April Fool’s Day 2022. The name reflects the blend of old and new elements in the whisky. Alex Bruce, a descendant of Andrew Usher—the father of modern blended whisky—helped craft this expression, which combines traditional production methods with innovative green technology.
On the palate, it offers notes of apples, oranges, strawberries, bananas, dates, milk chocolate, toffee, and fruitcake, all underpinned by gentle peat smoke. Bottled at 53.2% ABV, it is a very fruity and sweet whisky. Only 1,575 bottles were produced, making this a highly sought-after release.
