Released in 2014, this is one of two Distiller’s Reserve single malt whiskies from Suntory in Japan. This single malt from the Yamazaki distillery is packed with superb red berry notes, gained from the whisky being matured in Bordeaux wine casks and Sherry casks. Overall this is a top quality Japanese whisky, and excellent value too. Can’t go wrong with this one!

You are reading it right! A heavily peated whisky from Yamazaki, limited to only 3500 bottles worldwide, this specific bottling was produced only for the Japanese market. On the nose, with heavy peat coming first with shy hints of citrus and dry fruits in the background, develops the palate for intense peat which is more salty in the mouth than in the nose and the fruity flavor caracteristics of the Yamazaki single malt is still present. A delicious combination of peat an fruit, which is well balanced and exceptionally well produced.
